Shack Facts
What is your style of photography?
Creative. Artistic. Joyful. Being versatile in what I photograph is highly important to me - from providing gorgeous, camera-aware (but relaxed) photos, to un-staged, spontaneous moments, to original artistic concepts and finally to thorough documentation of your family and guests. I believe my clients deserve the whole package. And I’m a stickler for technical well produced imagery!
What is your style of editing?
As classic and as natural as possible. I may include a vintage-look or crazy edit here and there, but rich B&W and vibrant colors with natural skin tones are more of what you’ll see.
How long have you been a professional photographer?
I graduated with a degree in Photojournalism from Boston University, and have had a journey of photography experience to finally land on my passion, wedding and portrait photography.I have been documenting weddings since 2005. Love Shack Photo was officially formed as a LLC in 2009.
Do you do engagement sessions?
Yes, engagement sessions are complimentary in all of our wedding collections. It’s an excellent way to get to know each other and feel more comfortable in front of the camera.
What is CrazyShack?
CrazyShack is Love Shack Photo’s version of a photo booth. Perhaps a little more unique than some photo booths, CrazyShack has a prestige for being one of the most creative and unusual in Philadelphia area. See here for yourself!
Is there a required retainer?
A signed contract and 1/3 retainer is due at the time of booking in order to hold the date.
Do you edit the images?
Yes, every image that will come to you will be color corrected, cropped and enriched. We photograph in RAW format for almost every session or event, thus providing the highest quality digital capture and output.
Would you be willing to travel for a portrait session, wedding or event, or commercial job?
Yes! Although I love my home town of Philadelphia, I certainly travel and can quote a price for you.
How long should we expect before we see our images?
Weddings are available six to eight weeks post event, and portrait sessions are approximately two weeks post session.
Do you have insurance?
Yes. We can also provide Certificate of Insurance to a venue upon request.
What kind of equipment do you use and do you have backups?
One thing you can be sure of, we don’t have a lack of that passion for new cameras, photography toys, and computer software at Love Shack Photo. We often shoot with top of the line Nikon, but use many types of equipment and brands throughout your shoot. Camera and lens quality and selection are important to us, and you will often see us changing lenses during a shoot. And yes, we have backups, to the backups, to the backups!
I am uncomfortable being photographed. Can you help me feel more relaxed?
Of course! A very large part of my job is making you look natural, engaged, and warm in photos. I assure you, you will be better at it than you think!
Once we are booked, what happens next?
After the contract and retainer are confirmed, I often have clients not sure what is next. For weddings, I am more than likely part of your planning journey. An engagement session is often planned shortly after booking, and we will provide you with worksheets and family list suggestions during the process, as well as creating a schedule of your day. You will have questions and we are here for you! For all other sessions, we will also work with you to achieve a concept.
Do you do other types of photography besides wedding - family photography, individual portraits, headshots, and commercial photography?
Yes, I am experienced in all these fields. I have a list of corporate clients as well. Please contact us for more information. Some of my corporate photography clients include Teva Pharmaceuticals, Starr Events, Vector Security, Advanta and Merck.
Why are you named Love Shack Photo?
Well, that is a good question! It’s a funny, somewhat tawdry story that those who book will get to hear!
