Charlie Posing at the Bimah for her Synagogue Portrait Session

www.loveshackphoto.com

Charlie poses with her yad and the torah at her synagogue portrait session at Main Line Reform Temple in Wynnewood, PA. I often photograph portraits of the bar or bat mitzvah child at their temple prior to the big event, as I am typically not permitted to photograph the service. Immediate family comes dressed in their temple clothes and it is one of my favorite parts of bar and bat mitzvah photography. It is often a time when I can be creative with lighting and make magical portraits. I love that's it's a part of the mitzvah experience. Main Line Reform is a beautiful temple with a golden arc and a stained glass wall in the lobby that is a perfect backdrop for extended family portraits. The kids are often nervous when I begin the photography session, but warm up quickly as we connect and all relax. For such a formal setting with important religious significance, I really believe that the family enjoys the session and has fun doing it. Part of my job is making people comfortable and running the session with ease and passion.

Location: 410 Montgomery Ave, Wynnewood, PA 19096.
